DESIGNATION: Sr. Engineer/Engineer – Supplier Quality
REPORTS TO: Sr. Manager – Strategic Sourcing.
LOCATION: Bangalore

POSITION DESCRIPTION

• Planning and carrying out quality audits at supplier end
• Be the quality focal point of India suppliers for the activities directed toward process control and quality assurance of sourcing products, work with supplier to establish a structured approach for consistency and adherence to quality procedures & requirements.
• Follow up non-conforming from QA activities (including quality system audit, pre-purchase testing, during process inspection, first article review, pre-shipment inspection, post purchase testing etc.) and identify / drive root cause analysis, corrective action and preventive action implementation.
• Work closely with Sourcing, Engineering and Fulfillment team to eliminate roadblocks and communication barriers that may effect quality and delivery requirements.
• Responsible for APQP process, PPAP evaluation, problem solving
• Should have shop floor experience, must be able to guide supplier in getting right quality as per the international standard.
• Responsible for making quality plans and test reports.
• Prepare FMEA report pre and post operation
• Responsible for supervising welding on fabrication and casting as well.


MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s engineering degree or equivalent in Metallurgy/production.
Self-disciplined, self-starter, ability to work in cross-functional & global team environment.

EXPERIENCE LEVEL:

• Minimum of 6 years experience in the field of Heavy/Medium fabrication and casting industries
• Should posses ASNT Level 2 or equivalent in NDT test
• Should have very good exposure to different welding technology like SMAW/MIG/MAG used in fabrication and during repair weld of casting
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes like fabrication (most important), castings, machining and forging.
• Good understanding of engineering drawing, materials and quality assurance plan
• Good knowledge in inspection method and documentation
• Should be well versed with various quality instrument/equipment used for dimension measurement like Micrometer/Bore gauge/Height gauge/CMM etc.
• Exposure to quality tools like MSA, FMEA, Fishbone, SPC etc.
• Possess good communication skill and should be good at developing interpersonal relationship with supplier.
• Should possess positive attitude and should be good at team work.
