Must have skills
Good understanding of one or more routing concepts - BGP/OSPF/RIP/Static/Connected
Understanding of typical router software design - Protocols, modules interactions between them, IP stack and routing table infrastructure
Strong OS skills  (linux/vxworks,RTOS)
Strong programming skills and build system bring up
